kerravonsen: Branch with leaves, a blue sky, clouds and a hint of a rainbow: Creation (Creation)

Okay, I have decided to join up with [livejournal.com profile] naarmamo. For the creative challenge, because I should be creative. Some things I create may be crappy, because I usually like to spend more than one day on them. Oh well. It is a challenge.

Yay! I'm so excited that you're going to participate. And I can guarantee that my art will make yours look wonderful by comparison (though I'm sure it will be lovely anyway).

I knew what you meant. But I'm not putting myself down. I'm good at a lot of crafty things, but nothing that requires the ability to visualize. I can't draw, paint, do computer graphics, or interior design, and it's not for lack of trying. I'm sure with enough practice I would improve some, but I doubt whether the ratio of investment to return would be a worthwhile use of my life, you know? Still, I am going to try to do some drawing and computer graphics this month.

And hey, cross-stitch is the paint-by-numbers of the needlework world. I'm absolutely certain you could do it; if you were here, I'd whip out my supplies and make you! ::g::

Cross-stitch is teh awesome (though I haven't done it in forever), because you can do it while listening to books on tape. There are precious few things I can do and still give said book the amount of attention it deserves--driving, knitting/crocheting, and cross-stich, pretty much.

Not that I do enough of any of those, except driving.

Sorry, random addition to the conversation.

Well, there's two answers to that. One is just to do small things, like Christmas ornaments and bookmarks; they don't take long. The other is to do it in little bits over a long time, while listening to a CD, watching a mindless TV show, waiting at the doctor's office, etc., as [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha says. Though it's true that the one picture I have on my own wall, I did pretty much non-stop during a week's vacation, but usually I do it while watching TV.

Yes, I hear that. I'd actually do more needlework of all kinds, if I could figure out something to do with it after. I don't want a house full of it, that's not my style at all.

I used to do a bit of blackwork... dunno if my eyesight's still up to it now, though...

That seems an oddly appropriate hobby for you, given your interest in history. :)

Yep, I got into it by thinking how beautiful it was in Tudor portraits :) Not that I ever got anywhere near that level, but even the simple stuff is pretty.
