I'm going to be working from home today.
(sigh) The electricity company did it again. And this time not even a storm as an excuse. That's right, we lost power in the middle of the night again. This time wasn't quite so bad, I'd gone to bed at 10:30 and woke up at 11:30 with the power off (though I don't know how long it had been off). I looked at the brochure they'd left for "life support" customers, with the Special Numbers to call, but it didn't say which Special Number was my local electricity supplier -- it had the names of the local suppliers, but my electricity bill doesn't say which one is my local one! So I called the Normal Number, and they gave the usual answer "fixed within two hours". Then I tried one of the Special Numbers but it wasn't the right one. So I gave up, because I didn't feel like making a fool of myself, so I sat there by the light of one candle and rang up
watervole and had a nice chat until the power came back on at 12:30am. Then I went to bed, turning OFF the alarm, in the hope that it would somewhat compensate for the alarums of the night. Sort of did -- I don't feel quite like a zombie, but it may hit me later.
