Anaesthesia -- the book cover!

Inspired by the lovely covers of taraljc I have done a "New Series book cover" of my story Anasesthesia.

It isn't what the film in my head was showing, neither Elly nor the Beastie, but they aren't egregiously wrong.

Cool. Who's that playing Ellie? She looks vaguely familiar to me, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. :)

I googled forever to find a decent picture of a black woman, and my first choice was cropped too much to use; this was my second choice, and is, oddly enough, according to the file, "Lisa Gay Hamilton" director of "Beah, Black Woman, Speaks" (yes, it's a long filename). It was difficult to find an image that wasn't of a pretty young thing. My first choice was younger, but also had a nice plain face. But this image was a much better pose.

That's fantastic! I absolutely ADORE "book covers" for fic, and have long wanted some of my own, but my graphics skills are not up to par.

I really like the colour and compositon of the whole thing, and especially like the odd design behind the beast's hand.

And yeah - not who I imagined for Elly, but I do like her. And like Astro, think she really looks familiar.

The odd design behind the beast's hand is actually from the new series, it's "Gallifreyan numbers" which are used on the console, but more importantly, used on the book covers and interior chapter headers. Some bright spark in the Who community has copied all these and made them available as a true type font, which I downloaded. Thanks to them for that design.
