Jack Harkness and the Temple of Doom
Feb. 12th, 2006 02:12 pmWhen I was working on icons for
tardis_icons, I wanted to make a "Jack of Diamonds" icon (in keeping with the lyric section of the challenge). So, naturally I was messing around with an image of Jack, trying to make it sort of cartoon or line art. But when I'd done that, it looked so nice large, and so horrible small, I decided to toss the icon and just go with the large image. But it was an image on a white background. What if I gave it a more interesting background in the same style?
And so Jack Harkness and the Temple of Doom was born. I kind of imagine it cluttering up the back of Clive's shed, along with the sketch of the Doctor on a Pacific Island... though of course this was done in colour pencil... (grin)
And for the curious, I have a notes page about how I put it together.
ETA: I dares y'all to write stories that go with the image. C'mon, you can do it!

Date: 2006-02-12 09:02 am (UTC)I don't think I'll tweak the gun though, because that part of the original photo is a bit blurry; it's motion blur as he's bringing the gun to bear. So I wouldn't be getting more detail from it, because it just isn't there, and it would probably look worse instead of better.
