Today at lunchtime, I was walking back to work, and I saw a dead sparrow on a windowsill, its wings shut, its claws clenched together, a pathetic sight.

Which gave me a CSI germ of an idea, which I beg folks on my flist who write CSI (okay, so maybe there's only one of you -- are you listening, [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha?) to write.

Title: The Fall of Sparrows
Dialogue: "What I want to know," said Grissom, "is what killed the sparrow."

Ack! I do not need more stories right now. Darn your brain for coming up with such a tempting prompt!

I thought you didn't watch CSI. *g* But that definitely sounds like Grissom.

I wonder if this could be done as a short story.... *ponders*

I would really like you to write it, because it has, like, resonances -- that the fall of sparrows matters, and Grissom is the kind of person who would concern himself with that, and it would turn out to be important.

Exactly. EXACTLY. *long-suffering sigh* Okay, I shall see what my brain kicks out while I ponder. No promises, not with the other six fics/original stories currently demanding my attention and time, but.... There is, as you say, the potential for great resonance.

You're watching CSI! Woohoo! And yes, isn't Grissom splendid?
