State of the Laptop

Ah, I've been bending over a hot laptop most of the day. (sigh) What is working?
- framebuffer support at 1280x768
- kernel 2.6.15-gentoo-r1
- did I upgrade gcc today or yesterday?
- gpm (mouse in console)
I've also been writing a "this is what works" file to be put up on my website in the computer section when this whole thing is done. And searching all over the web for things about the stuff I haven't got yet, like "suspend" and wireless and problems with the X server. And discovering odd interesting things like the Qingy terminal server (http://qingy.sourceforge.net/) which looks rather fun but it would be extremely unwise to install it before I had X working.
There is lots more to do and I am weary.
