Well, it would have been nice whenever the day. I only remembered it was Valentines Day today because the local coffee shop is plastered with hearts...

And don't worry about the sugarlessness of the gum, I consider that to be a positive aspect, rather than a negative one! Sugarless gum is supposed to be good for your teeth, or something like that.

Good for your teeth, but too much is not good for the rest of you; the sweetener they use also works as a laxative, so be warned.

Ah yes, I have encountered that problem before with sugarless sweets, but only with some of them. I think one of the factors in that is whether it's the kind of sweet that I'm tempted to eat in sufficient quantities to affect me, and I don't think chewing gum is in that category. Because one keeps on chewing it for quite a while, instead of absently eating one after another.
