Well, it looks like nobody's going to comment on my writing. This is probably because (a) everyone hopes that someone else will do it, because it's too hard (b) everyone feels they haven't read much of my stuff so they can't comment (c) how the heck do you figure out what someone's style is?
Oh well. Yes, I'm dissappointed, but them's the breaks.
On to other things.
I've just realized there's a possible continuity error in the New series of Doctor Who: in "Dalek", which is supposed to be set in 2012, it's mentioned that the UN are still trying to cover up the existance of aliens, yet, it's remarked at the end of The Christmas Invasion that they won't be able to deny the existance of aliens now. I guess it just means that they did cover it up anyway.
I've also realized that The Christmas Invasion makes one of the things I'm doing in my finish-a-thon story impossible. Since it's rather important for the plot, I'm going to ignore The Christmas Invasion, and say that... in the Christmas Invasion the circumstances were exceptional, and they just don't apply to the situation in my story, so there.
I've also realized that I'm assuming that Rose knows how to swim, simply because every Australian assumes that everybody knows how to swim. And that might not be the case in other countries. However, since we know that Rose did gymnastics, I'm going to declare that she learned how to swim as well.
In doing screencaps for the Pretender, I've come to the conclusion that Michael T. Weiss is not a good actor. He has three expressions: happy, sad, and neutral. When he's angry, he puts on his neutral face and narrows his eyes slightly. Patrick Bauchau can act circles around him. So can Andrea Parker. Now, if they'd had someone like David Tennant in the role... except that he was too young at the time, and in the wrong country.
Which leads on to a dreamcasting idea. Not "who would be the best for a remake of XYZ", but, given six of one's favourite actors, what sort of show should one make for them to star in, and what would be their roles?
I have no idea, but I'll toss out some actors to challenge you (three male, three female):
1. Chrisopher Eccleston
2. Patrick Bauchau
3. Gareth Thomas
4. Jacqueline Pierce
5. Joanna Lumley
6. Diana Rigg
