Well, I think you'd get on well with an intellectual like Giles, and I know you love Doctor Who and you seem to like the eighth one especially because he's in your interests. I've never seen him.
Probably, but I was just kidding. I'd really want to fix you up with somebody who's genuinely nice, normal, and stable--definitely not Giles, but somebody like the Fifth Doctor or Jack O'Neill. I haven't settled in my mind yet who's exactly right.
She'd probably kill O'Neill, y'know... I thought of Daniel, but I have this feeling living with him all the time would be a lot more aggravating than it seems...
How about the Brigadier? (after he's retired and mellowed a bit)
True... but given my appalling imagination, if we take away everyone who's Already Taken, then Everyone I Am Not Supposed to Suggest Just to Make You Shudder...
How about Dr Henry Brown Snr (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom)? Sure, his son's more - adventurous, but it's Sean Connery :)
I really must watch Battlefield again. It's such a pity the series was cancelled put on hiatus after that season, they'd just started to have good scripts again.
I get so angry with people who write off the final stories before the break; they cannot have been watching, or, if they were, they cannot have been listening.

Much as I love the 8th Doctor, I do think I'd get on better with the 5th Doctor -- he's not so extroverted. And I don't think I'd irritate him as much as his usual companions do. We could talk.
I like Jack, I do, but I don't think we'd suit. I'd want to talk about "meaning of life" stuff, and he's just not interested in that. Not that he's stupid, but it wouldn't be a meeting of minds, y'know?
No two minds meet over everything. You can talk about meaning of life stuff to your friends. Jack is a phlegmatic, practical, straightforward person who'd give you balance and stability. ;-)
Not so much opposite as complementary. You're similar in some ways, such as the dry humor, but you have different strengths. Good couples need, IMO, some things that they share, and some things that they don't. It's good when the things that they don't share are each others' weaknesses.

Which would probably be the problem with me and Daniel. He's much better off with Shau'ri -- she'd be practical where he's absent-minded. I'd just be absent-minded along with him, at least for things that I don't like doing...

Date: 2006-01-01 03:51 am (UTC)Oh, you must. Or maybe listen to one of the BigFinish 8th-Doctor adventures, if you like radio plays.
Of course, the downside of seeing him is that his one, sole, adventure... was pretty crap, apart from him.

We could manage it only if we had a housekeeper and a secretary to take care of all the mundane domestic hassles.

Straightforward and dry humour. I could live with that.
