Well, I'm on-line sooner than I thought. I have now backed up almost all my files to CD -- 19 CDs in all. Not the kind of task one is going to do very often. I'm here even sooner than I intended because I was planning not to write anything tonight, except that I'm finding that my just-operated-on ingrown-toenail toe is aching so much, even with the strongest painkiller I have, that I don't think I'll be able to sleep, so I might as well sit in front of the computer as lie in the dark with air blowing through my nose -- at least for a while. (sigh) Problem is, when I'm sitting here typing I feel all tired, and when I'm lying in bed I feel wide awake. (sigh)

In other news, the blood tests show I have too much androgen, which, if I recall correctly, is yet another tick in the box indicating that I probably have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. My doctor said that he'd refer me to an endocrinologist if I wanted (it wouldn't help with the obesity, but the hair and pimples, yes). I probably will sooner or later, but not immediately.
However, hooray for my non-diet diet -- I lost another kilo! Woo hoo! Now to just keep up the good work. And actually use the treadmill more than a couple of times...

While I was sitting there waiting for CDs to burn, I got some perl programming done, which means I now have a new version of HTML::GenToc which can now optionally use ID attributes instead of A ->NAME tags. Which I wasn't sure if I could do, so it's nice to have done it.

And I also did a new version of my KatPoll script earlier this week, but have only uploaded it now, so y'all can go take another gander at the SF poll if you like.

Well, I did manage to get 4-5 hours sleep after I was so tired that I simply couldn't keep awake. Toe is still throb-throb-throbbing. I therefore declare today to be a Day Of Complete Veging. Not even washing shall be done. I haven't quite decided yet what sort of Veging I'll do. The weather isn't as nice as it was yesterday; the sky is grey. Ah, us Aussies don't appreciate our weather. Melbourne tends to be jealous of Sydney, and then shrugs and says that our weather is more interesting anyway. What I didn't realize, until I stayed with [livejournal.com profile] watervole in May one year, was that Melbourne still tends to get more sunshine than the UK, even in spring. Or maybe I'm just overgeneralizing.
