Doctoring the Browser
Dec. 21st, 2003 01:49 pmWell, this is all
synaesthete7's fault, what with her raving about Scherzo I decided to have a look, realized that I actually do already own the first 8th Doctor+Charley story, so I decided to take a look, and then decided to start catching up, with the next three in the series (and a side track to "The One Doctor" because it sounded as if it would be fun). And then I find myself on the secure payments page, and my browser goes ga-ga (or maybe the page was ga-ga -- haven't these people heard of HTML-tidy?) and after much fruitless effort I finally managed to give them my credit card details after cutting and pasting the URL into a different browser altogether. (the unhappy browser was Mozilla 1.5, the happy browser was Opera)
I shouldn't have upgraded my mozilla. It is broken with fonts as well as being broken like it was today. But I don't want to go back to version 1.0, which is the only choice that Debian offers me. If I compile from source, then that messes up the Debian packaging, and it won't let me install galeon which depends on mozilla; though I can live without galeon, so maybe I will. But not today, it is too hot, and I have too many other things to do.
