Refractions #3

I am a mighty accomplished person: I have put up Refractions #3 on my site! I came to the realization yesterday that it was far far too much work to try to reproduce the old Refractions #3 layout in PDF with a completely different DTP than had been originally used for it, that this huge amount of work had been what had been stopping me from doing anything towards the conversion, and it was about time I accepted my limitations and just convert it to straight HTML.

Which today I spent all day doing. A one-day project, that is something feasible.

Well, good on you! :) Always nice to accomplish something. And this is as good a place as any to satisfy my curiosity about whether you've had any ideas for your crossovers100 yet. Huh?

I have some ideas; a series of encounters between the Doctor and Methos, but I have to get the important ones straight in my mind because they will be referring back to each other. Because, of course, they're going to be meeting each other out of order.

It's also occurred to me that if I can figure out a plot, that 5th Doctor dream would suit being a Sapphire & Steel crossover, since it's just the kind of thing they would be involved in. Though it's going to have to be one of those things where I'm not going to try to explain why they're the same universe.

But I need to be working on my charity story, darn it!

I just read the Babylon 5 story by Kymberlee. That was wonderful! Just what I needed. I don't see a lot of B5 fic around, since JMS is a bit uneasy about it, so it's lots of fun to get to read a good one about the hilarious flower mixup.

Yeah, there was a bit of a damper on B5 fic when the show was on the air, because JMS, while not against fanfic in principle, didn't want to accidentally see any (or to be accused of having seen any) for legal reasons. There *was* B5 fic being written, but on a private mailing list (of which I was a member). That's where I found most of the B5 fic which I put in Refractions. And now that the show has been off the air for a while, even though there's now no reason not to write it, people still aren't writing it.

The next issue which I'll be putting up, you'll like a lot: Refractions #4 was a special one-story issue, with a B5 story by Isoline Sanderson. It was written either in Season 2 or Season 3; I can't remember right now.

I was rereading Refractions 1&2 last week (must have been just before you posted 3) and only today found 3 was up. Thank you, it's nice to get the old stuff coming round again.
