Oh Dark Thirty

It is 2:30am. In the MORNING. And the little weather pixie in my user info informs me that it is 26 degrees celcius! At 2:30am!!!! If that's not some sort of record, I'll be very surprised. No wonder I woke up. Looking at the Bureau of Meteorology's current weather observations, the coolest place in Melbourne is Dunns Hill, at 23 degrees, while the warmest is the CBD, with 28.3 degrees. This is unlivable. Bah!

I almost didn't believe it until I reminded myself that I once got sunburned in your fair city at this time of the year back in '97. I sincerely hope this means your workspace is not unliveable too.

Well, it was a record.

Fortunately, the aircon at work is working fine, and also it is (typical Melbourne) cooler and wet today. It's apparently supposed to be max 30 on Saturday though (though with a more reasonable minimum of 13).

Are you someone from the Lyst that I should know?

I know you want the laptop, but maybe you should consider potponing that and getting the AC instead? Because if you're not feeling good, you're not going to want to use the laptop all that much. :(

Dad suggested that maybe I could get a cheap portable cooler as an interim solution. I think it depends on how well-controllable the cooler would be -- it would be worse than useless if it was just on and off, and thus I had to leave it on all night and then kept on waking up because I was too cold. More data is needed.
