More artistic stuff

While looking though all these Stargate pictures for making my last icon request, there was a picture of Sam which struck me as a good base for a full digital art picture; so I went ahead and did one. It's called Astro Geek. The interesting thing is, a lot of it just consisted of me messing around with this that and the other, keeping the bits that I liked, and tossing the bits I didn't. Though maybe that's just art in general. Though with art in general, it isn't as easy to toss the bits one doesn't like. Ah, I like layers...

Thanks. Playing around with techno brushes, and varying the opacity, so that it looks like she's looking through glass -- er, I assume that's the effect you're talking about?

Thanks! Though I'm starting to worry that the effect has spoiled the composition, distracting away from the actual picture, like the way you know a movie is going to be bad when the first thing people say about it is that it has good special effects.

*shakes head* no, see, the effect makes me notice the picture, Sam's eye, it acentuates it in a way I really really like. I just wanted something more clever to say than "wow!" :)
