Hi folks, I am still intending to do the finish-a-thon, and just to whet your appetite, and more importantly, to get feedback and remove any misunderstandings early, I present you with a draft copy of the Rules of the finish-a-thon, so I can make them better before the thing actually happens.

fake cut to rules here

Looks great and it's a brilliant idea. :-)

Looketh good. My only question is whether you want to include or exclude unfinished stories from previous challenges and ficathons, or leave that up to the discretion of individual participants.

Well, when you were going to have each person pick another's story, it seemed to me that since you had one person already waiting on the story, having another person waiting on it wouldn't be much help. OTOH, if there's voting, it's not so much writing for one person as it is seeing which story the community as a whole would most like to see finished, so it might not matter if the stories already 'belong' to someone--though you wouldn't want the person waiting on their story to feel misused. I'm torn.

Good then, that resolves two issues. Be sure to exclude them in your sign-up post. Oh, and I suggest a minimum number of ideas, say three, to have something to vote ON.
