12 Characters meme
Sep. 25th, 2005 11:29 pmThe 12-characters meme gen version. Pick 12 characters...
1. Kerr Avon (Blake's 7)
2. Rupert Giles (Buffy)
3. Servalan (Blake's 7)
4. 9th Doctor (Doctor Who, der)
5. Rose (Doctor Who)
6. Spock (Star Trek)
7. Jabe (Doctor Who)
8. Jim Ellison (Sentinel)
9. Jack O'Neill (Stargate)
10. Methos (Highlander)
11. Cally (Blake's 7)
12. Dr. House
And the questions:
Which would make a better college professor, 6 (Spock) or 11 (Cally)?
Well, Spock would, obviously. All that logic has to be good for teaching logically.
Do you think 4 (9th Doctor) is hot? How hot?
Not in the looks department, no. But charisma and brains - yes.
12 (Dr. House) sends 8 (Jim Ellison) on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
(tee hee)
Dr. House spent ten minutes in the company of Jim Ellison and figured out that he had hyperactive senses. He blackmails Jim into helping track down the source of the current mysterious illness they are investigating. Jim complains that he doens't know what to look for, so House teams him up Cameron, figuring that Jim is the type to be more cooperative with a pretty face (and he's right too). They succeed. Whether Jim and Cameron become interested in each other is another story.
What is or would be 9's (Jack O'Neill's) favorite book?
Hmmm. Probably a Guide to the Night Sky with scribbles all over it with Stargate coordinates.
Would it make more sense for 2 (Rupert Giles) to swear fealty to 6 (Spock), or the other way around?
Well, neither. In fact, it wouldn't make sense for them to be in the same room...
For some reason, 5 (Rose) is looking for a roommate. Should 5 share a studio apartment with 9 (Jack O'Neill) or with 10 (Methos)?
Oh, what a choice! Either way, she'd better like beer. If she chose Jack, she'd have to put up with him being called away in the middle of the night, lying about what he does for a living, and the telescope on the roof. On the other hand, an Air Force Colonel would be reliable with the rent. If she chose Methos, she'd have to put up with him being called away in the middle of the day, lying about what he does for a living, and the large number of antiques, including the inordinate number of sharp swords. If he's in his Adam Pierson persona, then she'd wonder whether a "perpetual grad student" would be reliable with the rent. She might consider that an Air Force Colonel would have some exciting stories to tell (except that they'd all be classified, so he wouldn't tell her). On the other hand, since she is so interested in time travel, that implies a possible interest in history, so she might find Methos to be more interesting (except that he wouldn't tell her his most interesting stories either!).
I really can't decide.
7 (Jabe), 2 (Rupert Giles) and 12 (Dr. House) have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
They go to Jabe's homeworld in the year 5-billion in the TARDIS. Jabe of course is a sparkling hostess, with her own servants who know how to make multi-species cuisine. They discuss history, culture, and the diseases of Trees.
3 (Servalan) challenges 10 (Methos) to a duel. What happens?
(What an amazing coincidence!) Servalan, is, of course, an Immortal too, and is young and arrogant, and challenges Methos (who is of course going under an alias) to a duel. Methos tells her to go and play with her dolls. Or her minions. She ignores the insult and starts waving her sword at him. Her sword, is, of course, coated with a colourless poison. However, she's wounded before she manages to get a strike in. As he collapses from the poison, she prepares to behead him, only he strikes her in the belly with a dagger. They both collapse, but Methos recovers first, and chops her head off. Fireworks ensue.
If 1 (Kerr Avon) stole 8's (Jim Ellison's) most precious possession, how would 8 get it back?
I can't imagine that Jim would own anything that Avon would want to steal. Okay, Avon stole Jim's truck because they needed a getaway vehicle, fast. Jim would get it back because he'd track the distinctive oil drips from the truck to where it was left abandoned in the middle of the forest where Avon had gone in order to... get away from the city interference which was preventing his teleport from working.
Suggest a title for a story in which 7 (Jabe) and 12 (Dr. House) both attain what they most desire.
Sweet Agony; House gets a cure for his leg, and Jabe exchanges more than air with The Doctor.
What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 (9th Doctor) and 1 (Kerr Avon) to work together?
The TARDIS is a time-space-travelling plot device.
If 7 (Jabe) visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
She'd be polite, and I'd be at a loss for words. She'd probably like my courtyard, though. And we'd probably end up playing Mah Jong. And she'd beat me.
If you could command 3 (Servalan) to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. That probably wouldn't work, though.
Does anyone on your friends list write or draw 11 (Cally)?
Well,
redstarrobot isn't on my friends list, though she's the first person I think of in regard to Cally. I would expect any of the B7 writers on my flist would have written Cally at one time or another, even if not as a major character. Which would include
astrogirl2,
vilakins,
mistraltoes and probably
watervole, though I'm not sure if
altariel1 has written any Cally stories.
If 2 (Rupert Giles) had to choose sides between 4 (9th Doctor) and 5 (Rose), which would it be?
He'd probably take off his glasses, pinch the bridge of his nose and say "oh dear". But he'd probably go with the 9th Doctor because the argument would probably be about different methods of saving the world, and the Doctor has more nouse in that department. And also Giles is used to disagreeing with teenagers and young adults, so his disagreeing with Rose would be par for the course.
What might 10 (Methos) shout while charging into battle?
(a) Nothing, he prefers a sneak attack.
(b) Nothing, just the sight of the Four Horsemen is enough to strike terror into anyone's heart.
If you chose a song to represent 8 (Jim Ellison), which song would you choose?
Well, the theme song of "True Dreams #2: Resolutions" was "And So It Goes" by Billy Joel, but that was that specific situation.
Of course, the obvious answer should be "Don't Mess Around With Jim".
1 (Kerr Avon), 6 (Spock) and 12 (Dr. House) are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?
Well, Spock would suggest, logically, that they divide it into three, Dr. House would grumble that he doesn't want to eat something that someone else has touched, and Avon and Spock would divide it between them.
What would 5 (Rose) most likely be arrested for?
(a) Fare evasion (travelling with an out-of-date pass)
(b) Counterfeiting/forgery (using anachronistic currency)
(c) whatever the Doctor just got arrested for by the Bad Guys
(d) Breaking the Doctor out of jail.
What is 6's (Spock's) secret?
Hair gel.
If 11 (Cally) and 9 (Jack O'Neill) were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
Depends on the destination. If it was somewhere on Earth, Cally would get there first, using the teleport. If it was another planet, then if it was on the Gate network, Jack would get there first. If it wasn't, then the Liberator would probably get there first.
3 (Servalan) and 7 (Jabe) tell conflicting versions of events. Which is more reliable?
Jabe, of course. Servalan lies as naturally as breathing.
1 (Kerr Avon) and 9 (Jack O'Neill) reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's (The Doctor's) sinister secret organization. 11 (Cally) volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that 11 (Cally) is actually a spy for 4 (The Doctor). Meanwhile, 4 (The Doctor) has kidnapped 12 (Dr. House) in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5 (Rose), they seek out 3 (Servalan), who gives them what they need to complete their quest."
What title would you give this fic? Name three people on your friends list who might read it. Name one person who should write it.
Now that's crack fic! Either this is some wierd alternative universe, or somebody is *lying*. It's actually a plot cooked up by the Master and Servalan to cause the Doctor trouble while they hatch their real plans. Dr. House wasn't kidnapped, he just went for a walk. Rose is working with the Doctor to expose Servalan for the villain she is.

If you had to walk home through a bad neighbourhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 (Jabe) or 8 (Jim Ellison)?
Oh, Jim, definitely! Big, tough -- he'd just have to *glare* at people and they'd back off.
Jabe I would want to take with me through the perils of a state reception.

Also like the idea of the Methos-Servalan duel.
The scary thing is, it's actually possible for this to happen in my "Winning is the Only Safety" universe, if I changed the plot. I was originally going to have her killed by an OC whom Avon set on Servalan (which I did think was a nice, sneaky way of doing it) wheras in order to get this scenario, I would have to alter the plot so that (a) Servalan got a teacher and (b) Methos was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Except I do like the idea of Methos out-sneaky-ing Servalan.
This is a great meme, it should make the rounds periodically with different questions.
It is, but the problem is, one can't read anyone else's responses until one has answered it. Maybe someone should write a script for it, which generates random questions. Would that help?

I don't recall O'Neill being in the TARDIS in any of the above scenarios... though he was in one of the stories I wrote for Multiverse. Me confused.
