From various people, I do the version which does the interest-counting for you.

  1. beatles:
I listened to my brother's tapes when I was an impressionable child, and have never found any reason to stop liking them.
  2. cheese:
I have in the past been called a "mouse with two legs". I love cheeses of many kinds, from cottage (well, one particular brand) to Coon to Cheshire to Wensleydale, to Red L(i-can-t-spell-it) to Havarti to King Island smoked Cheddar -- yum! I don't like things like Blue Vein or really strong cheeses, prefer Australian Swiss-style cheese to the real Swiss Cheese (the Australian cows make it kind of milder) and I used to dislike Brie and Camembert but they've grown on me. (Or else my taste-buds have become less acute)
  3. eden's bridge:
A Christian Celtic band. I think they were recommended to me by my brother-in-law, when he found I like Iona.
  4. filks:
I can't remember when or where I first came across filks, probably at a convention. I love writing filks with [livejournal.com profile] watervole, as well as singing them. Let's face it, they combine two of my interests: singing and SF -- what's not to like?
  5. iona:
Iona were the first Christian Celtic band I'd ever come across; I was introduced to them by by friend Duncan McHarg. He sat me down and made me listen to "The Book of Kells" and I was blown away.
  6. loreena mckennitt:
I discovered this lovely celtic-style singer/musician through Highlander fandom, when talk was all a-buzz about one of the Highlander films which used some of her music as part of the soundtrack. I can't remember which film it was, though obviously it wasn't the first, since Highlander fandom didn't exist at that point.
  7. paul mcgann:
Okay, so the 8th Doctor is one of my favourite Doctors. I haven't actually followed what else he's acted in, so I suppose I'm not that much of a fan of the actor himself.
  8. science fiction/fantasy:
Look, I was brought up on Narnia, Andrew Lang, Tolkien, and my brother's Asimov and Heinlien books. The result was inevitable.
  9. television:
Well, without TV, we wouldn't have Blake's 7 or Doctor Who or The Sentinel or Stargate or all these others, would we? I don't actually watch that much television nowadays, though.
  10. web sites:
I can't remember when I first started making my own websites, but it's addictive.

I beleive it was either the third film or Endgame that used Lorena's Music... I think she's just about the most famous of Canadian Celtic artists though Great Big Sea is a close second.

I'm rather fond of Caerphilly myself. (The cheese rather than the place, though I'm sure that's very nice too.)

Light and crumbly, with a mild but very pleasant flavour.
