Please ignore and/or excuse me while I winge and moan. If it works for [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2 maybe it will work for me?

I agreed to pinch-hit for Multiverse. Thought it would be fun, hey, don't need to write particularly long, just need to write something reasonable. Problem is, I am suffering from A Total Lack Of Inspiration.

First choice:
Character A: A character I rather like, from a fandom I'm no longer interested in.
Character B: Character from a fandom I've seen one episode of.

Second choice:
Character A: Character from the same fandom I've only seen one episode of.
Character B: Character from a fandom I've seen two episodes of.
However, I could see the potential interestingness of these two characters, except that I don't know enough about them.

Third choice:
Character A: Character from a fandom I've seen everything of, but need refreshment.
Character B: Character from a fandom I saw quite a lot of, but also need refreshment.
Unfortunately, I can't see these characters working together At All.

Since all of these choices involve me sitting down and doing time-consuming research; i.e. sitting and watching episodes, since I do actually have episodes (not that many, true, but some) of all the fandoms mentioned above, I have to decide beforehand, what to reasearch, except that I don't know which of the three to choose to do research for, until I've done some research!

And I have to do all this As Soon As Possible.

Gah.

Oh, dear. Is the moaning helping? *crosses fingers for you*

Well, maybe that will help... :)

Procrastinating is good :)

I'd go for... oh dear... probably c. Maybe you could work up their total unworkability-together into something fun...

You realise we're all dying to know who the blackboard-scratcher is...

You mentioned blackboard-scratching. It has to be the execrable Gaius Baltar. I can't stand him myself.

I'll reply down the bottom because this is interesting and the comments have gone narrow. :-)

And is the dull one an Adama?

Oh, OK. I was trying to imagine who could possibly be seen as boring in BSG if you'd only seen a couple of eps. Now I think about it, you were probably talking about another show.

I like all the BSG characters except for Gaius whom I regard as a total waste of skin. I gather you don't have to write him any more. If I had to, I'd kill him off. :-D I don't know why so many people like the guy. [shudder]

I suggest the third choice, and going down to someplace where they serve refreshments. This always works for [livejournal.com profile] steverogerson.

Continued from above.

They might. I never saw the original series so I have no preconceptions about the characters. You're right about him being so weak and spineless. I don't mind the Six hallucinations because she says some interesting things (strange that the cylons have a concept of one God, but if he's one of love, why do they want to destroy the humans they most want to become?) and I love to see the revolting Gaius embarrassed.

But I want to whack him with a lead pipe. He's not just weak; he's a devious, nasty little coward. He works up a test for cylons then lies about the results on certain subjects (not sure how much you've seen) presumably because he's afraid for his own useless little self. The one time he does something good (making a random prediction), it's by sheer accident or divine intervention.

I just cringe

I would if it were someone else (I don't get the humour of embarrassment either) but I long for him to be found out or taken down in some way.

So where are you up to in BSG? We've had all of season 1 but none of 2.

No, keep watching! The others more than make up for him! You'll miss out on Starbuck (my favourite), Boomer (she cones second) and Laura Roslin in all their wonderful flawed complexity! Don't let the little swine beat you. ;-) There's even a Cally, but not like ours.

And I like the filk. Hee. Lords of Kobol: at least it wasn't Fortran though they do have an Oracle.

Well, Six talks about God's love all the time. Maybe she uses the word differently but I don't think so from what she says.
