Woke up earlier than usual, having dreamed that I was explaining Linux over the phone to someone who'd never heard of Linux or Open Source, and then continued compsosing said explanation while in a half-awake state.

Then I thought how Avon and House would make lovely snark together.

Then I daydreamed an episode of House where my many ailments were diagnosed, with the requisite number of red herrings.

Ooh, does that mean you've gotten to see some House? My new TV guide has an article about the show (purportedly written by Hugh Laurie himself) but I haven't had the time to read it yet - but I am really looking forward to the new fall season.

And I think I may have to buy the DVDs of the first season, as bibliohippo and Rocketboy have taken a belated interest in it. Plus, I think there's a few I missed myself, and I simply must experience all the HouseSnark!

Mind you, if I keep on buying box sets, there's going to be as much problem with DVD storage as there's been with video storage.

Yes, two episodes so far. Am liking. They are saying "all new episodes", but which season is...? I'm not recording it because my TV reception for that particular station (channel 10) isn't so good (though Channel 9 is worse).

And I think I may have to buy the DVDs of the first season
Oh, it is out on DVD? Now? (looks at bank balance and frowns) (pre-orders anyway)

(goes off and looks up an episode guide)
Okay, it isn't the second season they're showing here, considering that I just saw episodes 9 and 10 so far. (scratches head in puzzlement)

You're seeing the first season; second season doesn't even start showing here until the fall. They're just releasing box sets earlier and earlier. On the one hand, I'm glad we don't have to wait long; on the other hand, waiting is a good way to see if you really want it for keeps. At the moment, I'm contemplating both House and Lost - am I really going to want to see tham over and over? I dunno. I love them now, but who knows if I'm going to love them next year? ::shrugs, continues contemplating::
