A Change Is As Good As A Holiday

As you may notice, I've changed my LJ layout. There seems to be a lot more themes available than there were when I first customized my layout. It's probably lazy of me to use one of the canned layouts instead of going the full hog and making my own entirely from scratch, but wrestling with LJ customization is one of the less rewarding exersizes in creativity. I'll just have fun looking at the drop-shadows that somebody else made.

I must admit that I use the option that allows me to look at everything through my own style. It keeps everything simple and avoids constant changes in the style of what I'm looking at. (and my style is the simplest default)

I do that as well, having found the many LJs have either over-garish colour schemes - but not this one, of course, which has a tasteful and restrained scheme.

I have actually set the option that the comments are kept at the default LJ setting, because I've found that a lot of schemes are badly coded enough that they Just Don't Work properly for comments if one isn't using the latest and greatest browser (and in fact, even the default scheme can go ga-ga on occassion). If I'm looking at things from other than home, then I could be using an old browser, likely as not.
