More Cally and the Doctor!

I have been inspired by astrogirl2's lovely story here, to do an image manip of Cally and the Doctor, called Blaze (though I'm not perfectly happy with it, the light balance is all wrong. But I think I've reached the point of diminishing returns with it, so there it is.)

To be pedantic, it can't really be an illustration of the story, because the trees are yellow, which would seem to indicate autumn and not summer, but they were pretty! But then they're alien trees, maybe they're naturally yellow... 8-)

Oh, that is lovely!

As for the nitpick... I think the vegetation was described as being blue-green (unless I cut that bit, I can't remember now :)), but maybe that was just the grass.

Well, I've done another version, with a sort of blue-green forest. Not sure which one I like better, actually.

Ooh, yes, that's more the color I imagined it. I'm not sure which I like better, either, though. The yellow leaves are pretty, and somehow match the mood.]

I think the yellow leaves, because they are bright, kind of evoke "blaze" and "summer", wheras the blue-green forest is gloomier, even if it's more accurate in colour.

And, BTW, the link you have to the second illo (on the story entry) is actually pointing to the first illo.

Ooh, lovely! I like them both! I think the only thing I'd do is get their skin tones to match more, and if they're nice and warm, they'd look as if they're looking at a fire. :-)

I tried. You should have seen them before I finished with the filters and stuff; his skin was all blue-tinged because of the light of the original image he was in. And when I tried to lighten up her skin tone too much, she looked washed out. (sigh)

I have to give up on this one, I think.

Next time I'll try to see if I can get/find/capture images that have more similar lighting, as well as both of them having appropriate positions and expressions.

It was just an idea. They're fine as thay are; Cally looks as if she's in the shade but looking at the fire.

Yeah -- I sort of figured I could get away with it if they were in forest, because the lighting could be different as they were standing in different spots. The Doctor just happens to be standing in a patch of sunlight, is all. 8-)
