kerravonsen: The TARDIS: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue (tardis)

One word: Wah!
I'm amazed: I knew what had to happen, and it still brought a tear to my eye. That's Paul Cornell for you.

Dalek, I thought, suffered from the 45-minute format - I felt there was a really good two-parter struggling to get out. For my reactions at the time, see my review (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kalypso_v/22754.html).

I feared, based on an earlier post, that you might dislike the storyline; but it had me reaching for the hanky.

There was something wonderful about the ordinariness of the people. This was not a story about rulers and space empires. The story evoked a genuine sense of warmth and family. Yet, at heart it was more of a "guy's" episode than the episodes thus far - about making big decisions rather than living with them.

Did you notice that, in true Dr Who fashion, the past was changed?

Yes, that's always puzzled me in time-travel stories. And how wide the effect on one small change is.

Rose now remembers the new story.

I love that ep, in spite of it being very much "Dr Who vs the Langoleers"

I think it's the guy they cast to be Rose's Dad that does it for me.
