I've made this a separate WordPress blog because

1. Dreamwidth is kind of frustrating in its really primitive user interface for pictures.
2. It's really nice to be able to just take a photo with my phone and then blog about it.
3. It enables me to be more focused in my writing about art/craft, having a separate blog for it.

Not that I'm necessarily going to stop posting here about art/craft, but half the time I'll be linking to posts I made there instead.

So go and check it out! Make comments! Look at the pretty pictures!

Nice layout! I've added it to my RSS reader, and I can say I intend to comment when I see something there, but RL being as it is, know if that doesn't happen, I definitely want to. :-)

(And yes, WP is wonderful, used it to run course blogs when I taught, so nice and userfriendly! Shame the community isn't really there, particularly for fannish things.)

Thank you! I spent a couple of days setting it up... it feels Iike I went through a hundred themes to find one that had the kind of look-and-feel that I wanted. And then tweaking and tweaking the config, including uploading all the flower/plant pictures for the header -- they are all photos I've taken myself. The background image is from one of my acrylic pours.

Shame the community isn't really there, particularly for fannish things.

Yeah, I find that LJ & DW are the best I know of for community-building.

I'm with you that Articraft should be a word. Craft and art can go hand in hand, there shouldn't be a distinction.

Go you!! That's gorgeous. Also "Articraft is Not a Word" made me giggle :) One of my favorite quotes is from William Morris: "Have nothing in your house which you do not know to be useful or consider to be beautiful." He would probably say that craft -- i.e. anything made with care and attention and skill -- is by definition art!
