Help Me Name These
Mar. 26th, 2018 07:56 pmI can't remember if I've mentioned it, but I'm now selling prints of my fluid art on my Etsy store. I'm doing it through Printful, who are a US-based company who do the printing, packaging, and posting - I just provide the art.
But I need your help. Because, however pretty a piece is, I'm not going to put it up until it has at least a title. And titles are hard to think of, especially when one has been staring at a piece for hours without any good ideas. So, here are four of my pieces! You can click on the thumbnail to see the larger sized image. Please put on your thinking caps and suggest to me names, even if you don't think it's perfect. Getting someone else's perspective may help me jolt loose the jammed logs of title-thinking. Thank you.

Like a bonfire at night? Hmmm, intriguing.
C. The Fishes in the Sea
(grin) They are a bit, aren't they? Like a school of fish.

Date: 2018-03-27 06:35 am (UTC)"Stalactites" and "Acid Rain" are both fitting for D, so what mood do you want the painting to evoke? "Acid Rain" is making a statement on an environmental issue; "Stalactites" are an observation of a natural setting, for instance.

Date: 2018-03-27 09:24 am (UTC)As for "Stalactites"... while it's true that it looks like stalactites, the white background doesn't look like a cave, unless you're looking out on a snowstorm... and I figure that "Gazing At Stalactites While Sheltering From A Snowstorm" is a bit clunky... 8-P

4. Howlite At The Moon
Oh that one made me laugh! The semiprecious stone lover in me says "But it's too brown to be Howlite!" but then I said back to myself "Well, make another one that's more like Howlite then." I think I will attempt this. Something mostly white, with greys, a bit of black and maybe a teeny bit of dark brown or deep blue. Thank you for the idea!

Date: 2018-03-29 10:44 am (UTC)Oh, I like that, but not for this particular painting. I shall try to keep it in mind.
For D I suggest "Demon Brew" because it looks to me like demonic coffee spilling over the side of a mug and then crawling back up it.
I'm glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read this, or it would have splattered all over my keyboard as I laughed.
