So, what can one do with odd socks, besides throw them out? I would like to be recycling-minded with the 11 odd socks which I discovered when I sorted ALL my socks yesterday.

Of course you can also choose to wear odd socks occasionally, e.g. round the house, until they wear out.

Best ever for dusting, old mateless socks are. So much easier to slip one over your hand and just grab / wipe things than fluffing about with a feather or rag duster. And then you just throw it in the wash and grab another one as often as you need it.

I wear very few socks, only black ones sometimes, so they are all matching.

If they are made of the right material. ideal for polishing mittens if your hand fits comfortably inside them. Emergency replacements for socks that are well past their prime, if they match up to a current pair. Or you can have the fun of wearing deliberately odd pairs, mismatched in colour but not in length.

Do you have long hair? If so, cut off the toes and roll 'em up for "sock buns" Easiest way ever to put up your hair, and more comfortable than most.

You can also cut rings out of the cuffs and use them like rubber bands to fasten things together.
