Saw Ghostbusters yesterday. It was fun. Yes, there were shout-outs to the original movie, but it was its own self. I loved the friendshippiness. Definitely.

Loved all four of the ghostbuster gals. Sassy and geeky and straightlaced and friendshippy. That they would sing and dance along with the radio from time to time showed that they were having fun with each other.

That their male receptionist was the male equivalent to a "dumb blonde" was amusing.

I loved it - I've never seen the original, so [personal profile] julesjones had to explain a lot of the references, but we may get a DVD so I can get a better idea.

And then watch this one again.

Well, it seemed to make sense to me - I suppose there wouldn't be much point making a film after all this time that didn't make sense without having seen an earlier version - though obviously I missed in-jokes like the first potential office being the original office.

And now I've seen it, and agree with all you say. It's tremendous fun.

I adored it. I loved that it read like women written by women - they had worries and insecurities but huge strengths and oh did they work well together.

And Holtzmann was amazing, and Chris Hemmsworth was having Far Too Much Fun.
