Reposting from [profile] julet316:
Somebody with this website is reposting several authors/fanartists fics on there without listing the name of the authors/fanartists on there and apparently in most cases, without permission. I've seen a good number of stories/fanart I'm familar with on the site (all of them most likely swiped from LJ and LJ comms as several LJ links to the original authors LJs are still attached), so if your fic/art is there I'd definitely tell this person to take it down immediately.

They're apparently justifying their wholesale reposts by saying that the Creative Commons Licence applies to everything on the internet, and it would be "too hard" to ask permission of 1000 authors.

There is a "search" field on the mid-right - I ran out of ooomph about August '14 and tried that for my usernames, and nothing came up, whereas "inell" came up with all their 'borrowed' work.

Note: I think some of it is also from AO3, as the tags have that feel to it, so if you use a different pseudonym there, try it as well.

And thank you, Kerravonsen, for alerting us to this.

Judging by the spelling and grammar of the quoted email, they're not native English speakers. This suggests they don't want the fic for it's own sake (or they'd be ripping stuff in their own language or at least attributing the writers). Probably some kind of attempt to pull in search engines for ads or text link spam or similar.

Not that I'm going to look, so I could be wrong.

I like when someone blogs fics for suggested reading - but always include the author's name! What the hell is wrong with people.

Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't find any of my fic on her site, but I've preemptively asked her not to post ANYTHING from my journal (apparently, personal entries are ending up there as well).

It sounds like this person has created a bot that scrapes (is that the right word?) journals and posts fic from all fandoms. In creating the bot to do the work, it apparently saves her the time of asking permission (something she finds to be a great hardship). Which makes me want to slap her upside the head. She's claiming fair usage and Creative Commons License, neither of which, as I understand it, applies to what she's doing.
