I have decided to leave all the fiction LJ communities I was a member of -- until I have a laptop again. The bus-ride to work was a most productive drabble-writing time, and since I can't do that right now, it would be too frustrating to be a member of b7friday or sentinel_thurs. And the other fic communities, I wasn't contributing much, if anything.

I shall return!

However, last night, in a non-fiction mode, I wrote a few notes about Children of the Gods, the first episode of Stargate SG-1, which I had recently re-watched.
Whether I'll do any others is a maybe; though I would like to, I also know that my similar project for The Sentinel didn't get very far. Ah well.

I need a Stargate icon.

I could still lurk, but it's not as much fun when one isn't participating, because (a) if I was just there to read, I actually prefer longer stories and (b) half of the fun is seeing how other people have tackled the topic differently to the way one did oneself.

And I had completely forgotten that you'd done that for some TS eps. Went back and reread your notes, and now am dying to get out my tapes and watch 1st season again. :-)

I should probably try to get back to the TS notes, but right now I seem to be Stargate mode -- and I do hope I do manage to go through and write notes for many episodes, because Stargate canon is now so large, that even if one only confined it to seasons 1-5 (my preferred canon -- season six does not exist!) -- even that is a large corpus with internal contradictions which it would be nice to keep track of.

I hope so. Very bad timing on the part of my desktop and laptop to both become decrepit and epileptic at the same time. Mind you, the laptop is four years old, and the desktop is probably at least six years old, so they've both carried on longer than the decreed average of three years...

There's quite a few later episodes pick up on jack's feelings for Skarra, though I agreee he's never as big an element as Sha're.

Yeah, I was surprised too, but it's right there -- Kawalski explicitly says "I didn't know you were married" to Jack. One can understand why that whole bit of dialogue was there -- it introduced the idea, for those who hadn't seen the movie, that a big reason why Jack is so fond of Skarra is that Skarra reminds Jack of his dead son.
