(I know I am very erratic in giving people birthday wishes, and it would be simpler to never ever give birthday wishes to anyone ever again, for fear of offending those I don't manage to greet in a timely manner, but I don't wish to deny myself the pleasure of wishing people a happy birthday when I do have my act together.
