In a way, I'm surprised that you didn't write that ficlet from Spike's point of view in the first place, since your stuff is so very Spike-centric. But I was glad of the opportunity to do so, especially since a particular line in the original leapt out at me, giving me the key to where to start: He knew Spike's heightened sense of smell must make him feel like he was surrounded by Buffy. I took that and ran with it. I'm glad you like it. 8-)
