For those of you who requested that I take a photo of my green jerkin, here it is.

And while I was doing that, I retrieved a bunch of other photos which were still sitting on my camera from last year. They consist of a trip to the Royal Show and photos of my blossom-tree on two occassions, and the aftermath of an amazing hail-storm.

And they took forever to resize, label, and upload. Which is why I am up so late (sigh).

The other main thing that I did today was figure out basically what I am going to take to the UK, including what costumes still fit, and brainstormed a bit with a friend to try to figure what sort of properly thematic costume I could devise from things that I had at hand. We shall see how that works.

Ah so, a productive day. Good for you! Is that jerkin real patchwork, or does the fabric just look that way?

The jerkin looks like fun! I was imagining a flat-green sort of jerkin, not something with interesting patchworked fabrics.

Yes, it is real crazy-patchwork. I did the patchwork sewing a few years ago, and the pieces of the jerkin had been sitting in the cupboard, neglected, since then, partly because I had been itending to make it fully reversable with purple patchwork for the other side, and never got around to doing the purple patchwork. I'm glad I decided to just line it with green lining instead; (a) it meant that I actually finished it and (b) a fully reversable jerkin would probably have been uncomfortable, since some of the cloth in the patchwork is scratchy.

Thanks! As I said to Mistral, I'd done the actual patchwork sewing a few years ago, and then it sat in the cupboard.

I think I like crazy-patchwork sewing. I just have to think of something I can make with it. I still have those purple scraps...
