Today was the last weekday of my holidays.

Good: I made it into the City to go shopping.
Bad: I realized when I was on the bus that I'd left my keys at home.
Good: I found the USB hub that I wanted.
Bad: The clothes shop I wanted to shop at wasn't there.
Good: I went to Lyncraft to cheer myself up, and they had some interesting yarn on sale.
Bad: But the range was very very small. Most of the space was taken up with on-sale Christmas decorations.
Good: I had lunch at the Pancake Parlour.
Bad: But I couldn't get side-salad without dressing.
Good: I managed to buy Doctor Who Season 6 DVDs at the ABC shop, and to post my [livejournal.com profile] exchange_bingo prize to its recipient.
Bad: While I turned up at Koko Black for afternoon tea at the stated time of 3pm, [livejournal.com profile] reynardo wasn't there yet. I figured she was just late. At 3:10 I was getting worried. At 3:15 I figured she wasn't coming, and I was very sad. But I decided to wait another 15 minutes to be sure. But I was still very sad. At 3:30 I decided to wait another 15 minutes so I could say I'd given her plenty of time, and maybe another 15 after that, so I could then go away and be miserable sitting on a seat instead of standing up on sore feet outside Koko Black.
Good: And at 3:40 Reynardo turned up, begging my forgiveness. Her lateness had been a knock-on effect of other things being late earlier in the day. And we went in and had afternoon tea and a lovely chat.

Good and Bad: She introduced me to the den of vice yarncraft that is Morris and Sons. So much lovely lovely yarn.
Bad: We went to the shop next door, but they didn't have the mints that Reynardo was looking for.

We then parted ways and I went back into Morris and Sons.

Good and Bad: I bought two balls of lovely expensive yarn.
Good: I bought ONLY two balls of lovely expensive yarn.

I then dragged myself to the bus stop and caught the bus, and read fanfic on my ebook reader.

Good: I walked very slowly home.
Bad: I remembered that I didn't have my keys.
Good: I remembered that my father probably had spare keys for my house. So I walked very slowly over to his place. (Oh, it is so good to be only two blocks away from him). He did have spare keys. And he invited me to impromptu dinner. Which was mainly tomato and cucumber salad, which I consider to be the essential ingredients for a garden salad anyway. And he walked me home, and the spare keys worked, and I could give them back to him immediately so that he had them back.

So that was today. My feet ache and my knees ache and I am exhausted, but there were quite a few good things too.
