So... that one wasn't bad. Unfortunately Dr. Zimmerman seems to have been changed into a counsellor rather than forensic psychiatrist. I really liked his observation skills which now, alas, seem to be no more.
He's now the Designated Sceptic and Soft Touch. I suppose we've made progress in the sexism stakes where the "soft" person is a male and the "cold" person is a female... but doing role reversals on stereotypes doesn't make them any less stereotypes.
I have to say, I was expecting the sisters to be killed in the end; that's the usual pattern shows such as these. The next most likely option was "put back into stasis to protect the world from their dangerous powers" so, even though it was sort of that, it wasn't quite that, so it was a nice change.
And of course we now have the Evil Cabal Who Own The World. (sigh) Who are a Secret Society With A Fancy Name That Have Been Around For Centuries... Though We Can't Be Bothered To Remember Their Fancy Name So We Will Just Call Them "The Cabal".
And the only difference between them and Magnus is that they want power.
What does Magnus want? She says she's doing this in the Pursuit Of Science, but if that were her real motive, she'd be publishing her findings, at least some of them. Because true science involves sharing one's knowledge, not hoarding it. Yes, I know that the party line is that the world is not ready to know but seriously, people will never be ready to know if you never speak to them. Guess I'm a bit sick of that trope.
