Not really much to say... I liked Dr. Will Zimmerman, but as for the rest, I think his quip about organ music could be applied to the whole episode. Organ music and lots of cheese. But I wasn't expecting much, so I shall rest content with liking Zimmerman, and see how it goes. Magnus could be okay once she drops the Mystery Woman act. Ashley is a walking cliché of a "kick-ass heroine", complete with smart-ass remarks that aren't as funny as she thinks they are. I have no time for Ashley. The villain was more interesting.
One thing I'm not sure of, was Druitt killed at the end, or did he just vanish? The thing that makes me think he was killed is that Helen obviously Did Something, whether that be that she substituted the her blood for something else, or that giving him more of her blood makes him worse.
That's powerful dangerous stuff, there. Looks as if it can make someone immortal, but with completely unpredictable side-effects.
Druitt also made some interesting Significant Remarks:
"Only the chosen left alive, immortals all, the holy five."
"The Five, the others...will come."
So presumably whatever it is that made Helen immortal happened to four (or five) others. And was possibly catastrophic for others who might have been there.
Reminds me of the effect of Mermaid Flesh in the "Mermaid Forest" Anime - in that universe, if someone eats the flesh of a mermaid, there are three possible outcomes: the most common is that they die, the next most common is that they turn into a mindless monster, and the extremely rare reaction is that the person becomes immortal.
