Just watched "Rose" and "The End of the World" with my nieces, and they liked it! Though T found "Rose" a bit too scarey and hid her head during the violent bits.

Since I have a day off tomorrow, I promised them we could watch an Old School Who adventure. I was thinking Tom Baker, but what adventure do y'all think would a good introduction to Old School Who?

Robots of Death. Not that I'm biased, but it does have just about everything you could want in a Who episode and more :)

Not Tom, but 'Curse of Fenric'. I think it's closer in style to the new series, and bridges the gap between new and oldskool.

City of Death? Because I'm predicatable, that way... and I've already tested it on a seven year old ( he quite likes anything with Sarah Jane in it, too!)

Heh, I remember watching "Rose" with Izh and being all snarky about how un-scary the plastic storefront dummies and garbage bins were. Then I went for a night run a few days later, and had to run past a long row of garbage bins. I was kind of almost positive that one was going to eat me. I ran really fast.

Depends.
Want to scare them? Go for "Stones of Blood" - this is most commonly considered one of the scariest Who stories from the 80s
Want to entertain them? Go for "Robot" - its got some sappy scenes with the robot that appeal to children
Want to educate them? Go for "Remembrance of the Daleks" - the Doctor is quirkily different and his relationship with Ace is almost platonic in this story, thus it can show to them how dramatically the Doctor changes when he regenerates

Oooh yeah. Best robots ever, that's my honest opinion... they turned budget restraints into a plus :)

Sure. I don't really know how to do the link though, which is why I never just put your name there to begin with.

And I'm going to take this opportunity to beg you to make a 3rd doctor icon again. Something where he looks properly annoyed and text saying "Back off man. I'm a scientist."

Difficult to answer this without knowing more about your neices, and especially their ages. But you can't go far wrong with Tom Baker.

In that case there must be a risk that what will appeal to one won't to the other. You could try "The Talons of Weng-Chiung", which is a favourite of mine.
