10 points of Doctor Who "personal canon" (from two people on my flist so far, but I expect more to follow):

1. The TV-movie is canon, because Eight is For The Win. With the following exceptions:
(a) the Doctor is NOT half-human. It was a joke.
(b) it wasn't the Master. The whole thing with the faux-Master was actually a Dalek plot, where they gave the Doctor a shape-shifting blob that had been programmed to think it was the Master.

2. To quote [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2: "Looking into the Untempered Schism is not the sole cause of the Master's craziness and his evil, nor are the drums in his head."
The drums were actually put there as a control program by the Time Lords when they resurrected him to use him in the Time War; there was no way they would resurrect someone as dangerous as the Master without having some sort of failsafe. Unfortunately it didn't work, but it did drive him crazy.

3. The Master was the one who was supposed to destroy Gallifrey, but he did a bunk and the Doctor had to do it instead.

4. The books are not canon. Except for the bits I like, such as "Set Piece".

5. The Big Finish audios are not canon. Except for the bits I like, if they fit with the current fic I'm writing.

6a. Romana is alive. She was in E-space, and Flavia was President during the Time War.
6b. Romana is alive. She was President during the Time War, but got away somehow. When this version of my fanon is in action, I also accept the Eight+Romana version of "Shada", and "The Apocalypse Element" but not the Gallifrey audios.

7. The Daleks started the Time War when they found out what the Doctor tried to do in "Genesis of the Daleks".

8. The Doctor has been getting more time-sensitive and telepathic as he gets older/more experienced.

9. Susan is the Doctor's grandaughter. The Doctor loved his wife very much, but she died. He mourned her for a long time, and withdrew from people. It wasn't until Susan came along that he got more interested in the wide universe again.

10. There is a TARDIS "elephants' graveyard" (somewhere in space-time) where TARDISes go when their Time Lord dies (as mentioned in the Big Finish audio "Omega").
