You know that running-out-of-X-clients problem I mentioned yesterday, that I was having with Ion? Well, it's happened again, this time with wmi. Aiieee!

My first thought is that it's the "status" script, because I only started using it last night, and it's since last night that this trouble has happened. Wheras I've been using wmi for, what, a week? without problems... Especially since this thing gets called in a loop every thirty seconds, that could pile up an awful lot of resources...

(sigh)

What is it really running out of? File descriptors?

I'd run lsof and look through the list.

It may mean something else when it says that it's out of X-clients. I have no idea *what* it may mean, though.
