lizbee, ten things that make me squee about Doctor Who.
1. Doctor #1
2. Doctor #2
3. Doctor #3
4. Doctor #4
5. Doctor #5
6. Doctor #6
7. Doctor #7
8. Doctor #8
9. Doctor #9
10. Doctor #10
More seriously, though...
1. Nine. Strange how he was such a different Doctor (how dare he wear normal clothes?) but now I look back and want to hug his anger and his angst.
2. Martha. She rocks like a rocking thing.
3. Romana. I prefer Romana II I think. But she's the Doctor's equal and better at some things than him, and also equally Alien as him.
4. The Brigadier. Such a good friend to the Doctor, and also one of the people we get to see grow a lot.
5. Eight. Mind you, we didn't see much of him in TV canon, though the novels and audios have sort of made up for that. I love his innocent enthusiasm. (As distinct from Ten's "I've got something dark underneath I'm trying to forget" enthusiasm)
6. Five. (hugs Five) I know many people scorn Five for being "beige", but I love the care and (somewhat ineffectual) angst, and the way he gets stressed and pedantic and... (loves)
7. The TARDIS. Like the Doctor, she re-images herself. She also becomes more alive as the series goes on.
8. Sarah-Jane Smith. Always feisty and curious. Now grown in flavour and well-roundedness, no longer quite as strident.
9. The Big Finish audios. Because we get more Five and Eight, and because they actually make Six look good.
10. The designs in The Robots of Death. Because they look so cool and transformed what could have been an ordinary boring "monster runs amok" story into something most excellent. Art-Deco robots! Over-the-top decadent clothing!

Unfortunately, you do still have to deal with Peri's voice.
(blinks) I don't find Peri annoying. She impressed me from the start as the first companion who was able to resist the Master's mesmeric influence.
