Well, I was unexpectedly delighted to find that my Ugg Boots from New Zealand had arrived this morning, and dissappointed to find that I had been foolish in believing their measurments, because they were, indeed, too small. So my Aunt Estelle got an unexpected very late birthday present this afternoon when she and Mum came over for lunch (and to afterwards brainstorm about the arrangement of my lounge furniture). So I have ordered another pair, a size larger. They did look very nice, sturdy, comfy boots.

Other things in the parcel were not a dissappointment: the possum-wool fingerless gloves were very soft and warm, and the double-knit silk turtleneck was luscious to wear, even if it might not have been to look at.

Huh! I've just ordered--and got--some silk t-shirts, tops, and gloves! And I'm wearing my ugg boots as usual. :-)

Possum wool?!

Possum fur blended with wool. The Australian Possum (not the same species as the American Opossum) was imported to New Zealand and is a Pest and a danger to the native wildlife. So they're trying to make lemonade out of this lemon, and make possum products. Possum fur is very fluffy and soft, grey or black or brown.
