Well, I didn't have all that much boring document to read after all. I'd forgotten that we were moving office today. The company has gotten so big we don't all fit on one floor anymore, so we got half of the floor upstairs, and our project group were moving up there today. From a glimpse I'd seen of the plans, it looked like I would get an office with a nice view instead of the sort of pseudo-office cubby-hole I had before. Yes, a cubby-hole is better than cubicle -- three proper walls (with a big window), but no fourth wall. But it looked like this time, I was going to get a propper office -- at last!
Imagine my horror when I walked out of the lift, all the way to my designated spot in the far corner of the floor... to find that I had the only "office space" in the area that didn't have a door! Yes, I have graduated from one cubby-hole to another. Mind you, this cubby-hole has three and a half walls intead of three, and a better view, but it's still a crushing dissappointment, which I daren't voice. I haven't got a clue where I stand with the bosses; whether they gave me that room because they thought I'd like the view, or whether they gave it to me because I'm not important enough to have a proper office. Yes, we have an open-door policy at work, but it would be nice to have a choice...
