Here is a metric for women's equality: 50% participation in all professions that do not require a penis. Contrary to expectations of the males of the species, there is only one profession that does require a penis: that of Gigolo.

Some men want to stay at home with the kids - and they should have the right to do so.

However, it's a far more common desire among women. (and men, wonderful though they are, can't breast feed)

Equality is a shaky term and has subtly different meanings. If the genders were equal (in one sense of the word) then we would be identical, and the world would lose a lot of things we value. That's why I always choose to say 'equality of opportunity' to try and be clear what I'm after.

Agreed it is a thorny issue. I have no desire nor energy to debate about it, though. Forgive me for trying to be succinct and clever rather than encompassing the full complexity of the issue.
