Thought For The Day
Here is a metric for women's equality: 50% participation in all professions that do not require a penis. Contrary to expectations of the males of the species, there is only one profession that does require a penis: that of Gigolo.

50% participation would mean that ALL women go out to work, implying that they are not allowed to chose whether they'd rather remain at home and raise their children themselves.
I believe in equality of opportunity, not necessarily equal numbers.

Not to mention that there should surely be the opportunity for men to remain at home and raise their children?

However, it's a far more common desire among women. (and men, wonderful though they are, can't breast feed)
Equality is a shaky term and has subtly different meanings. If the genders were equal (in one sense of the word) then we would be identical, and the world would lose a lot of things we value. That's why I always choose to say 'equality of opportunity' to try and be clear what I'm after.
BTW. Are you still awake? Fancy a phone call?

Yes, I'm awake. Expect a call momentarily.

Ha, yes!

I think it's a positive sign, yes. Not sure whether it contributes to the metric per se. But is a good point, yes.

And isn't that awhole new ballgame!? LOL!
