Yes, the "festive season" is officially over, but as we aren't yet into New Years, I thought I'd share this with you anyway, as I just composed it.

Oh! You made it yourself! I missed noticing that in the original message. Kewl. I particularly like the 12-11 pair. I shall have to bookmark this and sing it next year while baking cookies. :)

I kept on changing my mind about what the elves and the children were doing; originally the children were singing and the elves were a-working, but since I already had "six songs of winter" that seemed a bit redundant, and "a-working" was rather boring. And then I realized I could put in another poke about the commercial nature of Santafest... (grin)

My other favourite lines are "seven hams-a-smoking" and "five holly wreaths" because they fit the pattern of the original so well.

The song is, of course, a listing of a whole bunch of the trappings of "Christmas" that don't have anything to do with Christ.
