Temporary Website take Two

The spare machine (pippin) now has a new network card. Anyone care to surf to http://www.katspace.org/ to see if it's any better? I'm also running a less memory-hungry desktop on pippin, so that should help too (I had no idea that GNOME was such a memory hog! Mind you, I haven't used either GNOME or KDE in years so...) (Kathryn <3 Fvwm)

ETA Took another look, and for no reason that I can discern, instead of thinking that the new card was eth1 (which I had configured correctly) it thought it was eth2, which wasn't configured at all. And now that I've rebooted it again, it's gone back to thinking that it's eth1. (tears hair). Try again, folks, please?

I'm getting timeouts, so you can't prove it's there by me. Glad to see you're making progress, though.

Almost have your Hoggle-Hagrid story done. Title: Another Man's Poison.

Off to bed now. G'night.

All I can say is: "Me too". :(

I'm getting it now! ::happy dance:: But let me point out that I'm not on your side of the world OR in the UK. ::glower::

As of five minutes ago, it seems to be working. :)

Rather than eth1 and eth2, it would be far better if your cards were called Ron and Eth. :) (I wonder how many readers will have the faintest idea of what I'm referring to.)
