Finish-a-thon voting (part 2)
This is the voting for the finish-a-thon. Voting will continue until the 30th of August, 10pm GMT, though if I'm busy it might go on for a little longer than that -- in other words, you can vote until I say the voting is closed.

ETA: A reminder: Lady Smith has requested voting by participants only! Please go back and correct your votes if you voted for her and you aren't a participant.
For each participating author, first comes the descriptions of the unfinished stories they are putting up for vote, and then comes the poll for that author. Each poll refers to the story-number of the stories for that author. Note that some authors are happy for anyone to vote, and others the voting must be limited to their fellow participants. This preference is noted in each poll, please respect it. Remember, you can't vote for your own stories!
However, as a reward for participating, participants get an extra vote! The second poll-question for an author is for participants only to fill out.
That is:
- if an author has a voting preference of "anyone" then anyone (including participants) can answer the first poll question for the author, and participants answer the second.
- if an author has a voting preference of "participants only", then only participants can answer both poll questions for that author.
Note that I have no way of enforcing this, so please follow the instructions carefully!
If you want to see the results of the vote on your stories, you can see them, it just takes a couple of extra steps. Click on your poll's number (a few lines above your voting box); then on the page that takes you to, click on 'View Poll Results'. That will show you the totals. If you want to see who voted for what, you can go one step further and click on 'View Answers' (right above the red result bars).
The other thing you can do is fill out the poll, but leave your choice blank. That way the answers show up with the rest of them.
Note that you can change your vote, by clicking on the "view answers" link and then clicking on the "fill out poll" link. So if you accidentally vote where you shouldn't, go back and fill out the poll again, selecting the blank option.

Description: Despite the fact that one of his ten step mothers is a witch (not wiccan, but a real, by-the-prick-of-my-thumb, witch), Quatre Raberba Winner does not believe in magic. Until now. When he pisses off his step mother for the last time, the woman transfers his soul into the body of a doll. His original body falls into a coma as a result, and all of his friends and family gather at the hospital while doctors are left stunned at the lack of reason to his sudden drop in consciousness. But that's not all. A body cannot live without it's soul for more than seven days, and Quatre must learn how to break the curse and get his real body back before it dies, and he remains trapped in plush forever. This was actually my first true fanfic and GW fic, but I never finished it. It's not even half-way written, and if it gets voted, I'm going to completely rewrite it.

John, shaken, vows to restore his fiance and unborn child, but it isn't that easy. Never is. The title is taken from a poem by Kazimierz Sowinski. It's been started, but not posted.

A sequel to my story, The Doctor's Rib, set in an off-shoot of the girl_doctor AU--the (Tenth) Doctor and Rose (set post-"Age of Steel" but pre-"Doomsday") find themselves with an unexpected passenger, one Romana Rose Harkness, who wandered into the wrong TARDIS in Pompeii during the eruption of Vesuvius. The Doctor sends Rose out to the market for milk (so she won't discover too much about little Ro-Ro's identity) and then proceeds to try to take his daughter to Disneyland on opening day, but they wind up landing on the Universal Studios backlot instead while a movie is shooting there set in 1960s England, and hijinks ensue when the TARDIS is accidentally hauled away to be part of the set while they're up at the theme park. Somewhere between 1000-5000 words already written.

This is definitely an epic, so this would have to be the 10,000 words option (considering I've already got over 70,000, this should hopefully not be a problem). Fantasy AU Stargate story inspired by the X-Files AU series, "The Magician," wherein Jack, Daniel, Sam, Teal'c, Janet, Jonas and Cassie find themselves transported to a world so different from their own that even the laws of nature are different--a world governed by magic instead of science. Once there, they find themselves changing in unexpected and sometimes frightening ways, and are asked to take up a quest to save this world from a downward spiral into darkness, a quest that will change all their lives forever. And yes, there are also some similarities to "Frozen Flame," which is sadly no longer on-line, but I have done my best to minimize those similarities, even to the point of not reading all of that story so I couldn't inadvertantly incorporate elements of it.

His original body falls into a coma as a result, and all of his friends and family gather at the hospital while doctors are left stunned at the lack of reason to his sudden drop in consciousness. But that's not all. A body cannot live without it's soul for more than seven days, and Quatre must learn how to break the curse and get his real body back before it dies, and he remains trapped in plush forever. This was actually my first true fanfic and GW fic, but I never finished it. It's not even half-way written, and if it gets voted, I'm going to completely rewrite it.

A sequel to my story, The Doctor's Rib, set in an off-shoot of the girl_doctor AU--the (Tenth) Doctor and Rose (set post-"Age of Steel" but pre-"Doomsday") find themselves with an unexpected passenger, one Romana Rose Harkness, who wandered into the wrong TARDIS in Pompeii during the eruption of Vesuvius. The Doctor sends Rose out to the market for milk (so she won't discover too much about little Ro-Ro's identity) and then proceeds to try to take his daughter to Disneyland on opening day, but they wind up landing on the Universal Studios backlot instead while a movie is shooting there set in 1960s England, and hijinks ensue when the TARDIS is accidentally hauled away to be part of the set while they're up at the theme park. Somewhere between 1000-5000 words already written.
Genre: gen, but with m/f/f threesome and rather...er, odd m/f implied by virtue of the universe it's set in

This is definitely an epic, so this would have to be the 10,000 words option (considering I've already got over 70,000, this should hopefully not be a problem). Fantasy AU Stargate story inspired by the X-Files AU series, "The Magician," wherein Jack, Daniel, Sam, Teal'c, Janet, Jonas and Cassie find themselves transported to a world so different from their own that even the laws of nature are different--a world governed by magic instead of science. Once there, they find themselves changing in unexpected and sometimes frightening ways, and are asked to take up a quest to save this world from a downward spiral into darkness, a quest that will change all their lives forever. And yes, there are also some similarities to "Frozen Flame," which is sadly no longer on-line, but I have done my best to minimize those similarities, even to the point of not reading all of that story so I couldn't inadvertantly incorporate elements of it.

Description: peripheral to The Satan Pit. Difficult to describe without giving away the gimmick, but it involves the Doctor, Rose, the creature, and an old friend. Started it in June, shortly after the episode aired; got stuck on a huge chunk of dialogue; haven't touched it since.

Description: Spock and McCoy are abducted by the Romulans, who plan to replace them with spies that might fool even Kirk. They have to rely on their wits to get out of the situation. Description: Duncan and Richie find Methos unconscious in the dojo. He's apparently on the run, but has no idea why the other Immortal is chasing him, and the gang has to put a stop to it without getting the Watchers suspicious. This is a fandom for which I've never written -- nor seen any episodes; I fell into it through the fic. The story started out as a few lines of witty snark, but (as is the case with most of my stuff) rapidly acquired plot and (ironically) a backstory more fully realized than the main piece. It's about a fifth done.

Description: This is a plot bunny. I've written a few hundred words to experiment with the idea, but haven't posted anything yet. It's set post "Donut Run" in VM and is a Mystery. Veronica stumbles across a headless body on a beach, and the FBI try use this fact to pressure her into giving up Duncan by inferring that she would be considered a suspect for the murder if she doesn't tell them where Duncan is. Veronica, being Veronica, decides to go for option C - solve the Murder and clear her name.
Cue Methos (with guest appearances from Amanda.) Is he the Killer, or is someone else. No, I'm not going to tell you the answer, it is supposed to a mystery, after all. For those who watch VM avidly, yes, I'm an L/V fan but, just like in the series at this point, they're in an "off" stage... all the better for the snark!
