I am Alive

Hello, I am alive. I have been neglecting y'all terribly. My apologies for that. I haven't been keeping up with Dreamwidth at ALL. And then I popped in today and saw that so much I had missed out on, and re-realising that you're fascinating people and I have been doing myself a disservice by not keeping up with what y'all are doing.

So I must needs put Dreamwidth reading higher on my priority list. I've been hanging around mostly on Mastodon of late. I've been greatly enjoying following knitting and crochet posts there, and I've been doing a lot more knitting and crochet too. kerravonsen at mastodon.au is who I am there.

So what have y'all been doing that I missed out on? And, hey, are there things you'd like me to post about?

Did you post in Snowflake Challenges for the month of January. That's what a lot of us are finishing up. Now, I started another two communities. One is called Halfamoon. It's a 14 day challenge. Then I joined 50 random posts Communiity. Welcome back.

It's good to have you back!

I did [community profile] snowflake_challenge in January.

Watch for my Poetry Fishbowl on Tuesday, February 6 with a theme of "Twisted Genres."

Recurring Posts can help greatly with maintaining blog activity. I write mine in a desktop calendar to keep track of what to post when. Maybe do something like Fibercraft Friday for posting about your crochet/knit activities? I love looking at pictures of people's projects.

>>If Dreamwidth had an app where one could take a photo and do a post all in one, that would be a different matter, but as it is...<<

Yeah, images here aren't great.

>>Recurring posts... it is an interesting thought. But I am wary of them because they could easily turn into a burden that I feel guilty about, and I don't want that.<<

There are at least a couple options:

1) Think how often you wish to post about a topic, then set that frequency. It doesn't have to be daily or weekly, it could be monthly or even quarterly.

2) Use the "Today" approach. I do that with Today's Cooking and Today's Adventures. Today's Crafts could be starting a project, completing a project, buying yarn, find a new pattern, etc. But they would still have the same title and Crafts or whatever tag.
