Yeah, it turned out not to be as bad as I was expecting.

but it turns out that the people are completely justified in wanting to keep their "god" happy.
(nods) I think that's a significant point in making it not-so-bad; that the people were actually NOT gullible fools, which is what normally is done in such setups as this.
