One thing I found disconcerting about my visits to conventions in the UK was what the content of a "default" sausage is. In Australia, it's beef, or a mix of beef and pork; in the UK it's pork. This wouldn't have mattered so much if I didn't happen to love beef and dislike pork. So there I was, saying to myself "Yum! Sausages!" and then taking a bite and saying "Ugh, that's horrible!"
