This is the story I've been working on for this year's finish-a-thon. I did actually fulfil my 7000-word quota, but I really don't want to frustrate you all by posting an incomplete story that I don't know when I'll finish... so I'll just frustrate you all by posting the first chapter (which is pretty long anyway). 8-P
