settiai was just asking for Harry Potter fic recs, particularly for AU epics which were written before the series ended. Most of these recs are Snape-centric, which I expect surprises nobody. 8-)

In Harry's fifth year a young blind woman comes to Hogwarts on a secret mission, only to find herself allied with the one man she has been warned not to trust.

Snape/OFC, but Maud Moody is by no means a Mary-Sue. I really liked seeing the love develop between them. We also get an interesting look at the dynamics of Slytherin, and a sympathetic look at Mad-Eye Moody.

In his sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry's mental link to Voldemort is stronger than ever. Can Snape teach him to control the nightmarish visions? And is their connection the key to ending Voldemort's reign? (AU, set after OOTP)
2) Harry Potter and the Chained Souls

One of my very favourites, which I recently re-read and liked it just as much. A Snape and Harry reconciliation series, set post-OOTP. There are certain things in this which I think make more sense than canon, yet are still compliant with canon's theme of self-sacrifice and love.

Yes, another Harry-Snape reconciliation fic. It does start off in a somewhat predictable way, with hurt/comfort leading to a better understanding between the two, which proves vital in the defeat of Voldemort. This story is unusual in that Voldemort is defeated relatively early in the piece, and the majority of the story deals with the aftermath, an aftermath where people are still trying to kill Harry, the problems of fame are even worse, and Snape is the only one who notices that something is wrong with Harry.

A Year Like None Other by Aspen in the Sunlight
A letter from home sends Harry down a path he'd never have walked on his own. A sixth year fic, this story follows Order of the Phoenix and disregards any canon events that occur after Book 5.

Yet another Harry-Snape reconciliation fic! Look, I like them. This one has a sympathetic Draco also. Interestingly enough, while this one has "the power he knows not" as something that makes Harry more powerful than Voldemort (rather than "the power of love") it still has a theme of redemption in it.

Hermione's quest for a quiet place to read leads to the discovery of a remarkable portrait. The girl in the picture meant so much to so many. She is remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother, but what was she like at sixteen? Will her reappearance change everything?

This one is unusual partly because what destroys Voldemort in this one isn't really Harry. Of course, this one is also Snape-centric, because we have poor Snape faced with the girl he loved, from a point in time before she fell in love with James. But some things aren't meant to be...

Edited To Add: And if anyone has any HP fic recs of their own, PLEASE comment with them. As you might have noticed, I'm very fond of gen Harry-Snape reconciliation fics, but I'm also in the mood for good epics which refrain from character-bashing, are Snape-positive (even if not Snape-centric). It would be nice to see ones which feature Luna or Neville in strong roles too.
